Highlights of the 2020 boxing day match that concluded in a Leicester City 2 - 2 Manchester United draw.

It was a perfect start to boxing day for premier league fans. Game that had two of the top English teams fighting for second spot in the league was nothing short of exciting goals and close chances. Let's recap some of the highlights from the match.

Leicester City

Team started off on a back foot and was trailing twice in the game, once each half. But Leicester was able to level with United both the times, thanks to great strike by Barnes in the first half and great movement by Vardy in the dying minutes on the match. Defense was under par, especially veteran Evans was slow to adhere to the back line to catch Bruno Fernandez offside for the second goal.

Manchester United

Manchester United were leading away from the home twice in the game and didn't appear to know what to do with such rare situation. United have been coming back from losing score lines to win away games multiple times this season. When Marcus Rashford provided them a 1-0 lead in opening quarter of the game after missing an easy header at 2 minute mark, Bruno Fernandez's defensive error couple with a great strike by Barnes allowed the foxes to level with United heading into the half. Ole made a tactical change by bringing on Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani in the second half. This paid off when Cavani assisted Bruno to score United's second goal with a perfect pass, piercing Leicester's defense. However, lapse in concentration by the red devil defense allowed the foxes to equalize second time when Jamie Vardy's shot across the goal hit Axel Tuanzebe and, to United's despair, ended up in the net.

Rashford was able to score his 50th United goal but should have at least one more goal against his name...

Summary

With the draw, both teams hold onto their positions in the top 3 of the league with the foxes having one point advantage over the United at number 2 spot. United has a game in hand, however. Although both the teams should be satisfied having finished the game with one point each, the red devils should feel a bit more disappointed than the foxes given the chances they had throughout the game. Rashford was able to score his 50th United goal but should have at least one more goal against his name while midfield as well as defense of the team should have done more to keep their lead intact, twice!
